Dusky Beauties Of Bollywood

Earlier Bollywood was only known for the fair and gorgeous divas like Hema Malini, Madhubala,
Rekha etc. Being dusky was considered as good as being ugly. But some of the dusky actresses broke this myth and are today some of the most successful bollywood actresses.
Smita Patil was the most dusky actress of her era. She left some of the actresses of her era behind with her award winning performances. She made her dusky complexion her strength and that’s the reason she was considered the dusky beauty of her era. Her powerful acting and her dusky complexion both contributed for her success in the stardom. Even today she is remembered as one of the best dusky beauties.
Kajol entered the tinsel town with the film Bekhudi but the film didn’t work that well at the box office. She was later appreciated by the critics for her performance and her dusky looks in the film Baazigar.
Bipasha Basu showed the actual meaning of sexy to the audience as soon as she entered bollywood. She entered the film industry with Ajnabee and since then there is no stopping for the Bengali Beauty. She had also won the title of World’s sexiest Woman earlier. Her dusky complexion compliments her sexy body and long legs. No wonder John is so much in love with her.
Chitrangda Singh entered the industry with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. She was not only appreciated for her performance in the film but was also admired for her looks and compared with Smita Patil for her dusky complexion. She was also approached by a film maker when she was in class 9 for playing the young Smita Patil
Nandita Das had actually started her career with a theatre group. Today she is not only an actress but also a director. As an actor she was very much appreciated for her roles in Fire and in Deppa Mehta’s 1947 Earth. She has been known for her movies which are based on some social issue. Unhone Best Actress ke awards bhi jeete hai film Bawander aur Amaar Bhuvan ke liye.
